You know those AU's where the Batfam finds or learns about either hidden or thought to be dead Al Ghul Danny! with a deaged/daughter Dani (Ellie) (I should know, I created a few of those storylines) but what if, now hear me out, what if instead of them finding Danny first its Talia.

Do I want Talia discovering her thought to be dead son to be alive? Yes. Do I want her to find him while investigating Amity Park when the League gets reports of 'Lazarus creatures/water'? Yes.

DO I WANT HER TO KNOCK ON THE FENTON'S DOOR, fully ready to pretend/honey talk her way into the house to uncover what the Fenton's know, ONLY TO MEET A LITTLE ELLIE?!

Ellie whose eyes and hair look like a copy of her Beloved but she can see bits and pieces of herself as well. Talia knows the child in front of her was not fully her's though but everything makes sense when she hears a voice, a voice she hasn't heard in ages but as a mother just knows, speak out.

I do not think evangelizing on the double standard of women being expected to wear makeup everyday to grown women is actually productive or respectful (provided they are not judging me for not wearing makeup), we can all make our own decisions on how to walk through this world, however, it is true that whenever a woman in my daily life equates making themselves decent and presentable with having a coat of natural makeup on, I do have to viscerally repress the urge to shake them by the shoulders and scream that they've been had.

stoic illiterate unwilling assassin deeply in love with unfailingly kind rich sad gay man almost stabs his crush's brother because the brother cares so much and so genuinely for the gay man that he searched assassin's room out of worry and found knives and a mysterious letter before being interrupted by the assassin who then does not want to show him the letter which seems incredibly suspicious, only for a later scene (after the gay man interrupts them and thus stops any escalation from happening) to quietly reveal that the very sus letter in possession of this illiterate assassin is not in fact a sign he's lying about being illiterate.... it's just two pages of him practicing the gay man's name over and over in neatly spaced lines...... a reveal which he was going to STAB a man over because he doesn't know that the gay man's brother knows the man is gay and loves him with his whole heart and would never ever do anything to hurt him........ i will never get over this, how could i ever get over this, everything else ever is going to be downhill from here

I really like the use of Varric so far in this game. I figured he'd die (and I thought he did and shed a few tears), and I was fine with that because there wasn't much left to do with him, ESPECIALLY when they stripped him of his entire past. Weirdly though, this has worked. Instead of making him 'best friend', they've essentially taken him as a seasoned and tired man with a history in tragedy and standing by the side of people who have to make tough decisions and made him a mentor or father-figure (I could be reading that last part wrong, but I'm playing a Crow and the backstory of them implies their young-ish.)

His beard, by the way, I think is pretty big proof of where he's at in his life. The fact that you're given his shaving mirror and yet he's unshaven proves he's exhausted, he's been on this grind for a year and a lot of the humor he had has been worn down through tragedy and the constant chase. He's a really imperfect character for this mentorship role, he's never truly been someone who see's the big picture, but what he IS is the guy that can relate, sympathize and humanize the person making the hard decisions. That's a perfect personality to be in that role, even if his advice isn't always gonna be the best.

I was worried that stripping these characters of their history would hurt their characterization, and I still am, but they seemed to do really well with Varric despite that.

Jon whose monstrous feelings make more sense than their human ones. Jon who has always felt alone, two-steps removed from their peers and the people around them. Jon who struggles to voice their emotions, to even understand them, unless they are coming from this terrible thing growing inside them. Jon for whom emotions have always been a powerful, hostile, alien force. Jon who is constantly reaching for all the feelings that everyone else seems to have and understand naturally. Jon holding their own feelings up to the light and feeling frustrated and empty until they see something else staring back. Jon who has never felt whole or fully present in reality until the birth of the new world, when they are finally perfectly grounded and present.

It would've been hilarious if ShawLuna had tried to cover their asses from the early volume transphobic jokes around Jaune by making him a trans woman. It can't be transphobia if it's ☆~foreshadowing~☆
